I have a confession

I have a confession..

I was about to write a long spiel about instant gratification; about how people nowadays seem to want everything to happen INSTANTLY.

To lose weight INSTANTLY…

To get fitter INSTANTLY…

To come out of uni and step INSTANTLY into the dream job…

Then I realised, I too am one of those people.

Would I love for this business to jump from struggling start-up to immensely profitable in the next week?

Of course.

Would I love to click my fingers and have the gym looking exactly as I dream it to look?

Of course.

Would I love for all my long term goals to manifest themselves tomorrow?

Of course.

However, there is one critical lesson I have learnt that I want to share with you…

Things never turn out this way…unless you win the lottery.

Now, I would like to pose a question to you:

Are you giving every single ounce of your energy towards your goal, whatever it may be?

Are you giving every single inch of your being towards making your dreams, goals, ambitions and hopes a reality. Every minute of every day, every day of every year?

I don’t know who is going to end up reading this, but I am going to safely assume the most common, if answered honestly, response will be “Um…no, not really”

Do you turn up to the gym a couple of days a week, do a half-hearted workout, and then lament to your friends that you haven’t lost weight yet, after 3 weeks of training?

Do you eat one healthy meal once every few days for a couple of weeks, then complain that you can’t achieve the body you desire?

The cold, harsh reality that I instill upon everyone that walks through the Kinetic doors, is that things do NOT happen instantly.

Especially if the effort given towards those things is minimal, or nowhere near your fullest capability.

I have figured this out, and it is extremely frustrating. For a person who inherently lacks patience, coming to the realisation that a result is just effort multiplied by time, was very difficult for me.

I see it in clients every day, it is incredibly frustrating for them too.

But that’s just the way it is.

In this world of instant gratification, health and fitness is one of the few remaining areas of life that cannot be fast-tracked, despite what social media may portray.

You can’t hop on an app and get a new, shredded physique delivered within 1-2 business days…

You can’t hop online before 3pm and order a ‘same day delivery’ 20kg reduction in body fat…

Do you know what you can do?

The work.

Do the work, and the results will come.

Put in the hard yards, and you WILL get rewarded.

The saying goes, “Good things come to those who wait”…

I will add to that, “Good things come to those that work hard AND wait”

If you liked this read, and think other people may get some value out of it, please share, or tag.

I want to reach as many people as possible.

A change is coming.
